Experience
Matt Kern
Matt is an ecotoxicologist and environmental risk assessor with 30 years of experience
in industry and consulting. He began his career by conducting ecotoxicity studies and
later managed ecotoxicology laboratories for Bayer CropScience. During this period, he
developed expertise in environmental risk assessment for crop protection and specialty
products. Much of his work focuses on strategy related to product development and
defense within an ever-changing regulatory environment.
Matt now supports a wide range of clients in ecotoxicology, risk assessments, and
regulatory strategy. His skills include specialized ecological risk assessment for
endangered species, as well as laboratory study design and management. He
particularly enjoys collaborating with internal and external experts in ecotoxicology,
exposure modeling, and spatial analysis to address complex risk assessment
challenges. As a study manager, Matt also maintains strong relationships with contract
research organizations that conduct most GLP ecotoxicology tests for industry.
Matt and his family live in America’s heartland, in a small community just south of
Kansas City. Matt and his wife, Veronica, spend much of their free time at the lake,
going to sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.
